"Caps and Closures"

Has developed an entirely new method of oxygen absorption.

EU packaging regulations permit hydrogen to be used in the modified atmosphere gas mix, used in flushing the container before sealing.

With a nitrogen/hydrogen mixture, the percentage of hydrogen can be up to 5.7%. This new method relies on the conversation of hydrogen to water using elemental palladium as a catalyst.

Finely divided palladium is anchored onto a non-woven substrate using a patented process. A small piece of the non-woven containing the palladium is affixed onto a foam wad and covered with a gas permeable membrane.

The resulting "wad" is suitable for inclusion into all forms of "Caps and Closures" applications.

Once the wad/cap has been made, it is totally stable and does not require any protection during storage and transit.

Applications could include wine, beer, jars, glass, plastic, fruit juice, sauces, soft drinks, etc., including medical and pharmaceutical applications.
