PGM Knowledge

CLEERS is a R&D focus project of the Diesel Cross-Cut Team. The overall objective is to promote development of improved computational tools for simulating realistic full-system performance of lean-burn engines and the associated emissions control systems.

The Diesel Cross-Cutting Technology Development Team (known as the Diesel Cross-Cut Team for short) is composed of representatives from U.S. diesel engine manufacturers, automotive companies, the Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Army Tank Command (TACOM), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The primary function of the Cross-Cut Team is to coordinate development efforts for advanced, low-emission, high-efficiency compression-ignition-direct-injection (CIDI) engines. This role includes identification and prioritization of specific R&D projects appropriate for government funding.
