The Center is involved in the promotion and expansion of inorganic membrane science as a technological base for industrial applications via fundamental research.

The Center has assembled skills essential for synthesis, modeling, material characterization and diffusion measurements, for application to general property determinations of inorganic membranes.

Projects include dense and microporous organic membrane synthesis, membrane reactors, Pd and Pd/alloy membranes for hydrogen production and separation, reactive membrane studies, fouling and transport studies, characterization of membrane degradation, biotechnology applications, and NMR spectroscopic studies.
