SEM images of the Cu-Pd layer before and after reduction of 1-bromodecane (concentration 2 × 10⁻² M). The metal layer (shown in (a)) has been obtained after a dipping of a copper sheet into PdSO₄ (see Experimental section) for 2 minutes. The structural change (b) of the layer (consecutive to the catalytic reduction of the RBr compound) was obtained by electrolysis at −1.9 V vs. SCE after 2 C cm⁻² have passed through the cell.
