Kaushik Mallick obtained his Ph.D. degree from Magadh University, India. Until December 2006, he was working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Molecular Sciences Institute at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is now a scientist in the Advanced Materials Division at Mintek in Randburg, South Africa, where he is working on transition metal and lanthanide nanoparticle synthesis, and the characterisation and applications of various homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic systems. His current research activities are focused on organic electroactive materials with metal nanoparticles and inorganic semiconductor composite materials for application in molecular electronics system. He has published some 35 research articles in various international peer-reviewed journals.
